End of Summer
So busy with everything now that school is back in session. Today we went to the lake again- likely the last time for all of us for the year. Rick ran in three races- two with Matthew. Took both doggies so they could get their last swim in- they are snoring at my feet as I type...tuckers the pups out but good. Safe to say that Reggie really has learned to swim after all. While Jasper rescued four people today, Reggie almost drowned Jasper but still managed to get Matthew back to shore!

The Pittsburgh Zoo
We had a beautiful day on Saturday- just the right temp and a bit of a breeze for Matthew, Dylan, Rick and me to enjoy a day at the zoo. We were able to see most of the animals because of the mild temps. I am always impressed with this zoo, they do a great job in presenting the animals as well as having great exhibits- Dylan especially liked the aquarium. Enjoy the slide show!

"I have placed my rainbow in the clouds as a sign of my promise until the end of time, to you and to all the earth. When I send clouds over the earth, the rainbow will be seen in the clouds, and I will remember my promise to you and to every being that never again will the floods come and destroy all life. For I will see the rainbow in the cloud and remember my eternal promise to every living being on the earth."

Isn't he so RADICAL!!!
Remember when THIS mindset used to be the norm and people who were "peace" freaks were considered radical!!!

summer with Dylan
We are so busy with all our activities this summer. First sailing camp, then lots of swimming, bike riding and three sets of fireworks with two more nights to go. The Famous Ramsdell 4th of July fireworks last night and we still have more to do there too. Dylan is a JOY!! He is really talkative but we are used to that already! Last weeks weather was LOUSY so no swimming and VERY boring for Dylan, and me too. This week to come, Alex, Matthew and Papa are going to be at BS camp....Pop will take Dylan out to sleep over at least one night if not two. Dylan asked me today if he could be a Cub Scout with Gabe and then be a Boy Scout, told him he'd have to talk to Mom about that!! Enjoy pics...

We just finished a week of sailing camp. We brought our oldest grandchild, Dylan down from Jonesboro, to have a week of fun in the sun. He did okay- unfortunately, maybe just a bit too young at a tend 7 years old. He did solo once and he did do the capsizing drills. We expect that he will become even more used to it as the summer goes on as we bought another sail boat...one that will seat a 2 or more.

We took Jasper and Reggie (our newest Newfie) with us to the lake and found out that Reggie is NOT a swimmer. Now I thought that ALL newfs were swimmers but apparently I was mistaken. We think it may be because Reggie has a bad paw- a permanently stretched tendon that make him walk on his ankle. Hope that we can get him used to it this summer. No pics of that catastrophe (I had to rescue Reggie, Thank God, Jasper could rescue me!!) But I will see if I can find some of the pups playing.

a flying trip to Machias
Got in a bit over twenty four hours ago and we will be back on the road no later than 8am tomorrow. We went to Jane's funeral, really lovely service, and saw Wesley and Kathryn. The rest of the time has been spent with Ryan and the kids with a 45 minute visit with Vicki and J. God bless her, she is in so much pain...J seems to be hanging in there and I am sure that having all her sisters here has been a blessing. Enjoy the pics!!

For all you hunters....
This is a site that was recently launched from Maine. My step brother, Mike Crabtree and a friend have invented this improved tree climbing system. I know NOTHING about hunting but to be quiet and I thought that the light weight materials as well as the muted noise would aid in staying peaceable?!

Anyhoo.....PLEASE forward this site on to as many people as you can for Mike!
Thanks for looking Gang!!
