The news said that this was the most depressing day of the year! Not in West central PA. Today was a day for some sliding with the dog! No, not the kids, they pupped out but I took the dog and we went to Cemetery hill and had a blast. How ridiculous I must have looked with my sled in hand ( almost 44 you know!) heading up town. No one else there but me but I laughed so much and so loud that I am sure that I got some attention! Jasper is quite upset with the likes of me sledding and he would again tackle me but what fun, especially that last run when I finally grabbed the dog and dragged him onto the sled with me and then slid down the hill- too funny! I was so sorry that more people couldn't have that chance to act like a 10 year old or that nobody seemed to want to take advantage of a perfect sledding day. The snow is really packed so hoofing it back up over the hill wasn't anywhere near as exhausting as it could have been. Fun for me!

Frigid in West Central PA
Patriots won today and that makes EVERYONE HAPPY!! It is a quiet day here today and COLD! Alex went out snowboarding earlier and I took the dog for a walk to watch. Jasper had a blast running around with no leash and digging in the snow. I tried to sled but Jasper wouldn't have it! He kept tackling me every time I tried to go down the hill. Then I thought that he was going to be wearing a snowboard as Alex came down over the hill and hit the jump just as Jasper walked in back of it. Not a problem, Alex jumped the dog with a couple of feet to spare! Too funny! Love this cold snowy weather- it is so very beautiful! The boys will be home tomorrow for the holiday so we will have to think of something fun to do. Michael is here. eh, what is an extra kid of two? Spouse was hard at it in the bedroom....get your minds out of the gutter! HARD working on the remodeling! Mudding the walls and ceiling, his least favorite thing to do, poor Ricky!! But oh, it is looking wonderful, a haven...a suite for me to watch Tv and read as well as sleep- will upload pics some time soon!

Sometimes doing nothing IS something
And that was what today was all about- doing nothing. Well, I did make some Maple Walnut Scones- three batches to be exact. One I promptly dove into with a fresh brewed cup of joe...deLICIOUS! Another I took to a friend whilst it was still warm! Rick took the boys to Blue Knob today, a bit of snowboarding in this warm January thaw. Matthew's first time there, with the school, had a great time, all hyper, bruised and sore tonight, already in bed at 8:45. Alex trashed his brand new board ($$$$) by hitting a jump that had a screw sticking out.. I am a bit p.oed at Blue Knob- they really should maintain their stuff! So, Rick will take it back to the ski den for a redo ($$$)- more money out of pocket! Rainy, drab, lazy dog sorta day. Church was wonderful- Pastor knows her stuff man! Christmas is over, today is Epiphany Sunday...dow- every Sunday is Epiphany Sunday with Pastor!! Christmas deco is gone back into storage, lights are coming down tomorrow. Look forward to the new season and guess what...the days ARE getting longer!
